Max Verstappen Shares Adorable Details About His New Cat: Penelope Kvyat’s Cute Nickname Revealed

Max Verstappen recently shared an adorable story about his new cat, Donatello, and the cute nickname his girlfriend Kelly Piquet’s daughter, Penelope, has given it. Max revealed that Penelope calls the cat “Donut,” a nickname that’s easier for her to say. Verstappen expressed how comfortable Donatello has already become in his new home, even sleeping on his bed.

A few weeks before clinching his fourth consecutive world title, Verstappen introduced Donatello to the world, sharing photos of the adorable cat on social media. Kelly Piquet also posted several pictures, one of which showed the new family member lounging on the bed, looking completely at home.

In a recent video on Red Bull’s official YouTube channel, Verstappen was seen discussing his Las Vegas GP race and title win. While walking through the paddock before the race weekend, Verstappen fondly spoke about Donatello and his new nickname. “Donatello. Donut. That’s how Penelope calls him, it’s a bit easier. He’s very cute, he’s already sleeping in the bed. So, he probably won’t go away anymore!” Verstappen laughed. It’s clear the cat has already settled in well with Verstappen’s family.

Max Verstappen has long been known as a cat lover, and this isn’t the first time he’s spoken about his pets. In 2023, he shared a dramatic story of rescuing one of his cats, which had gotten stuck behind a closet door. Verstappen explained how he had to break the door open with a hammer after trying everything else to free the trapped cat, even using his shoulders to try to force it open. The story highlights how far Verstappen will go for his beloved pets.

Max’s love for his cats is undeniable, and Donatello—nicknamed Donut—is the latest addition to his family, making the Verstappen household even more lovable.
