In a lighthearted tribute to his friend, NASCAR star Suarez shared some hilarious moments with Max Verstappen on social media, posting videos of the duo playing “soap soccer” and video games together with family in Brazil. In his post, Suarez wrote:
“Congratulations mate!! Here’s to many more Mario Kart games and busting our butts playing soap soccer.”
During his post-race press conference, Max Verstappen shared his thoughts on the highs and lows of his 2024 title run. He admitted that many of the best moments came at the start of the season when he won seven out of the first ten races, saying:
“Most of the highs were in the beginning of the season, when we were still competitive and winning races. It felt like a repeat of last year at the start. But the lows definitely came in the middle of the season, when we were struggling with pace and not making the podium. But even during those tough times, we always maximized our results.”
Verstappen went on to share some of the important lessons he learned from his challenging 2024 season. Despite some frustrating moments with the car, he pushed through, saying:
“After last year, I didn’t expect another season like that. It’s rare for everything to go perfectly, and there were moments when the car was difficult to drive. The key was working together with the team. When you face tough times, it’s easy to feel demotivated and think about giving up. But those tough moments are when you really need to pull together, keep working hard, and try to understand what’s going wrong.”
As Verstappen looks ahead to the 2025 season, he aims to become the second driver in F1 history to win five consecutive driver’s championships, joining the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio.
