It seems Drake has been facing some unfortunate losses recently. First, he lost $1 million in Bitcoin over the last two weeks. Additionally, he placed significant bets on professional sports teams that didn’t turn out in his favor.
On June 6, Drake posted a betting stub showing a $500,000 bet on the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup. Unfortunately for him, the Oilers lost to the Florida Panthers, which would have paid out $1.25 million had they won.
Then, he placed another $500,000 bet on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals, but the Boston Celtics ended up winning instead on June 17. If the Mavericks had won, Drake would have earned a $1.37 million payout.
Drake’s streak of losses prompted comments from Dallas Nation X, a Twitter account covering Dallas’ professional sports teams, which referred to him as “the biggest loser out of the NBA and NHL Playoffs.” They also alluded to the “Drake Curse,” a popular belief that teams Drake supports often end up losing.
It seems like a tough run for Drake in both his financial investments and his sports bets recently.
