Chris Eubank Jr. has made a startling revelation about his past, claiming he once led a double life as a gang enforcer while residing in a lavish £1 million mansion. The son of British boxing legend Chris Eubank Sr., Eubank Jr. grew up in a privileged environment, receiving a private education and living comfortably in Brighton with his siblings.
However, away from the comforts of home, Eubank Jr. was entrenched in a much different reality, engaging in street fights and trouble with local gangs. His dual existence was highlighted in a notorious video that surfaced online, depicting him in a brutal underground car park brawl, where he is seen defeating a rival gang member with a series of aggressive moves.
“I don’t know how it happened,” Eubank Jr. confessed to rapper Castillo during an interview for The Main Event. “I was a street kid, a road man, going home to a £1 million mansion every night. It doesn’t make sense.”
Reflecting on his tumultuous youth, Eubank Jr. noted that such street fights were a common occurrence for him. “I was an enforcer in a gang in Brighton,” he said. “At 15 or 16, everyone is doing stupid things. That’s just what you deal with as a kid. You don’t know any better.”
His desire to escape that lifestyle ultimately led him to Las Vegas, where he began training to become a professional boxer. Eubank Jr. expressed his love for competition, saying, “I’ve always found the challenge exciting—trying to outmaneuver an opponent in the ring. It just turned me on.”
After a stint in amateur boxing in the U.S., he returned to Brighton to turn professional. Since then, Eubank Jr. has made a name for himself, challenging for world titles and amassing significant wealth through pay-per-view fights.
Despite his success, Eubank Jr. is acutely aware of the financial pitfalls that can accompany a boxing career. Having witnessed his father’s bankruptcy in 2005, he understands the importance of financial management. “Boxers are notoriously poor at keeping their earnings,” he admitted. “I saw my father go from a multi-million mansion to living above a nursery, and it made me realize that making money is not enough; you must know how to keep it.”
Looking ahead, Eubank Jr. is eager to take on high-profile opponents like Billy Joe Saunders, Canelo Alvarez, and Conor Benn, whose father, Nigel, had a legendary rivalry with Chris Sr. He is set to return to the ring in Saudi Arabia against Kamil Szeremeta, excited about the opportunity.
“This is a great fight for me to come back to after a year away,” he said. “And after this, the sky’s the limit.”
