Max Verstappen Accuses FIA of Biased Decision to Impede Red Bull

Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen has accused the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) of bias towards Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz following a collision with Sergio Perez during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Verstappen believes that the FIA’s handling of the incident was unfair and could have significant implications for the championship race.

The incident occurred when Sainz attempted to overtake Perez on the opening lap of the race, resulting in a collision that damaged both cars. While Sainz was given a five-second penalty for the incident, Verstappen argued that the penalty was insufficient and that Sainz should have been disqualified.

“I think it’s pretty clear who was at fault,” Verstappen said after the race. “It’s unfair that he gets away with it. It’s a shame for the sport. They [the FIA] need to be consistent. If you give a penalty, give a proper penalty.”

The collision between Sainz and Perez has added another layer of complexity to the already intense championship battle between Verstappen and his teammate, Sergio Perez.
